Choose the correct appointment
RTA requires appointments for technical inspection for registration, renewal and export with plates. This is a vehicle inspection booking, not a driving-licence road test.
Use RTA’s official booking channel, identify the plate source, select the vehicle and inspection type, then choose the centre and available time. Check the confirmation sent by the official system. This guide does not display live slots.
Check exceptions before travelling
RTA identifies exemptions including failed-test reinspections, certain data-verification and export/transfer services without plates, and specified eligible vehicles of People of Determination and seniors. Tasjeel Hatta is also exempt. Read the exact current scope on the official service page.
Do not generalise Dubai’s appointment system to another emirate. The operator and local authority should confirm the admission process there.
Walk-in is not available everywhere
RTA describes an optional paid walk-in alternative at selected centres. Its appointment page excludes Wasel Arabian Centre and Nad Al Hamar; Shamil Al Adid, Al Muhaisnah and Nad Al Hamar; Al Mumayaz Al Mizhar; and Tasjeel Al Twar and Al Mankhool.
Check the current centre list before depending on walk-in admission. A payment option is not a guarantee that a centre can handle your vehicle class or complete a registration transaction at that time.
Before your time slot
Read the arrival instructions in the RTA confirmation and bring the correct vehicle and documents. Check the branch name carefully where operators share a neighbourhood.
If plans change, return to the official channel used to book and inspect its available management options. No cancellation or rescheduling is performed on this website.
Booking sequence for Dubai
Use the RTA service page linked below. Choose the plate source before the vehicle: RTA supports entering details for a plate issued outside Dubai. The inspection type must match the purpose, not simply the cheapest option.
- Open Apply for Vehicle Inspection and follow its official Start Now link.
- Identify the plate source, vehicle and inspection purpose.
- Choose the centre and appointment, then confirm. Save the email or SMS booking details.
- Check the centre name and date before travelling; RTA asks you to bring the vehicle within 15 minutes either side of the appointment.
- At the centre, confirm the certificate email and keep the test reference after payment.

When an appointment option does not appear
A missing date or vehicle category is not proof that a centre has closed. Check the selected plate source, test purpose and category, then try another eligible centre or contact RTA. Do not select a different purpose to obtain a slot.

Can this website reserve a time for me?
No. Follow the RTA link and complete the booking there.
Is a driving test the same booking?
No. Vehicle inspection checks the vehicle; a driving test assesses a driver.
Is the stated inspection duration a guaranteed waiting time?
No. An authority’s service estimate does not include a guaranteed queue or your travel time. No live queue is available on this guide.
